Tera & Jesse's Wedding Part 1

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of a wonderful couple. Their ceremony and reception took place at a beautiful home on Marlborough Point overlooking the Potomac River. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Tera and Jesse exchanged vows as the sun was setting. Here is the first set of images from their Big Day! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Check back later this week for Part 2!

Family Portrait Session Part 1

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with a great family while they were briefly in town. When they contacted me to take their family portrait I was so excited. I've known them for a very long time and it is crazy to think about how fast time can pass (It felt like yesterday when the kids were infants). It was also great because Jay was my high school art teacher and was an invaluable support and influence in encouraging me to pursue my fine art degree. So needless to say, I probably wouldn't be where I am without his guidance and wisdom. We had such a great afternoon at Slaughter Pen Farm in Fredericksburg and I think these pictures do this amazing family justice. I'll be back Wednesday with some more photos from this great session!

An Outtake...

On Monday, I headed to Richmond to collaborate with an old friend from my VCU days. She is an awesome graphic designer (and artist and musician and teacher and whyisshesotalented?) You can check more out about her  here . Until I can share more about the fruits of our labor I thought I would post this quick photo of her that I took. She was an awesome stand-in while I was working on getting my lighting just right.

It's ruff to be a dog...

Last week I got to spend a few days with three amazing dogs. We played with a frisbee, lounged around, and ate some treats (they ate dog treats, me gluten-free cookies). They were so great to be around and after a while I think they took me into their wolf pack (or so I like to pretend).

Zoe

This girl loves her frisbee. She is so easygoing and lovable. She's just one big ball of adorable.

Coco

Coco and I became fast friends. I think sometimes she likes to pretend she is a lap dog which I found to be hilarious and endearing. She also is great at snuggling. And did I mention she is really soft and fluffy?

Ike

Ike is the probably the most relaxed and "chill" dog I've ever met. It took him a little while to come around but I like to think that he warmed up to me in the end. I loved his "go with the flow" attitude and not much seemed to phase him. If I were a dog, I'd aspire to half as cool as Ike.

4th of July Weekend!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! I spent part of mine down in Moon, VA. It's a great little place off of the Chesapeake Bay where my grandparents own a summer home. In between all the delicious food, sun, and family, I captured a few snapshots of my time!
